Introduction: When life feels constantly full

Allan: Today we are talking about energy, motherhood and the desire to create a life with more freedom. Ea, what made this topic so personal for you?

Ea: I reached a point where I realised that I did not simply need a better calendar. I needed a different way of living and working. I wanted to be present with my children, but I also had dreams and creative ambitions that mattered deeply to me.

Allan: Did those two parts of your life feel as though they were competing?

Ea: Yes, for a long time. I think many mothers feel they must choose between being devoted to their family and being devoted to themselves. I no longer believe that has to be the choice.

The invisible pressure mothers carry

Allan: Why do you think so many mothers feel they are constantly behind?

Ea: Because they are not only completing tasks. They are remembering, anticipating, regulating, organising and carrying responsibility for how everyone else is doing. Much of that work is invisible, but it still uses energy.

Allan: So the solution is not necessarily to become more productive?

Ea: Exactly. Sometimes productivity advice adds another layer of pressure. Before asking how to do more, we need to ask what is draining us, what truly matters and what no longer needs to be carried.

Building a business around real life

Allan: You also want to build a business that gives you more freedom. What does freedom mean to you?

Ea: It means being able to choose where I work, having time for my children and being able to stay close to the people I love. It also means creating something meaningful that supports other women.

Allan: Has your definition of success changed?

Ea: Very much. Success is not only income or growth. It is also whether the way I build the business allows me to live the life I am building it for.

Energy as a personal compass

Allan: When you talk about energy, what do you mean?

Ea: I mean the full picture. Sleep, food and movement matter, but so do thoughts, relationships, sensory overload, boundaries, the home environment and whether we feel connected to ourselves.

Allan: What is one place someone can begin?

Ea: Instead of trying to fix everything, notice the moment in your day where your energy consistently drops. Start there. Ask what is happening, what you need and what small change would create the most relief.

Closing reflection

Allan: What do you hope mothers take away from your work?

Ea: That they are not failing because they find life overwhelming. They may simply be trying to function inside a way of living that does not support them. Small changes can create more space, and they are allowed to build a life that also includes them.
